“Family Begins with a home”
PROJECT: MAlaika Houses
Bringing rejected mothers and children together to make a family unit

After being gifted land by the DRC government, we have broken ground on building homes for the Malaika Mummas!
We are very excited to share that we have been offered a large block of land in Lusenda village located next to the Tanganyika River to establish a sustainable Malaika Community to house both the Cori-Anna College children and the Malaika Mamas and their Watotos.
The Malaika Mamas have been approached to consider each becoming a foster mother to seven Cori-Anna College children each while they raise their own Mtoto. The dream is to provide these Malaika Family units with sufficient resources to create a safe and nurturing home. Each family unit would have their own cottage, access to safe drinking water, and washing facilities—all to create sense of community.
Construction of one building, with two homes, costs around $20,000 USD.
